Cinematic vs Journalistic 

Journalistic is live media coverage where things just happen and get filmed, while cinematic is designed. It's a term mostly associated with movies and TV shows that are crafted from a manuscript and tailored by a producer and director.  Cinematic components include designed lighting to create a chosen mood, dynamic audio to complement the visuals,  orchestrated by a director, then finessed by an editor to make it cohesive and entertaining. This doesn't exactly describe a wedding video, does it?  
Many event videographers claim cinematic is their style because they do sweeping camera shots and take drone shots. But when it's an event, not staged, not rehearsed, it's still journalistic—and there’s nothing wrong that! A well shot journalistic wedding video can be amazing! With that said, if you want, you can have a real cinematic wedding video.

I’m a very experienced Kauai videographer who offers true cinematic videography. True cinematic doesn't occur happenstance, following the events of your programmed wedding day, which is linear, unless you're okay with a staged start, stop, start again wedding—I don't think anyone is okay with that!  Because cinematic means scripted, filmed segmentally, sometimes requiring multiple takes to ensure the best performance, framing, camera tracking, timing, lighting and audio, the only realistic way to make a cinematic wedding film is DON'T!
